Abstract

In this paper, an attempt has been made to look into the extent at which these reform movements succeeded in transforming different political communities in West Africa. In order to provide a clear and vivid analysis of the level of such transformations, this paper will consider the jihad led by Uthman bn Fodiyo, the most spectacular and far-reaching, as our case study.
